york. >> with us tonight amy free our meteorologist from our affiliate here in new york. you have three things you're looking at. >> the first storm is in the northeast, it looks wet and white and will give some folks a white christmas. as it moves through washington, late tomorrow evening it will produce a tlint of snow. mainly the snow stay in central pennsylvania. and central new york, one to three inches possible there. along the i-95 corridor, mainly a little dusting. >> then severe weather in the south? >> yes, this is down in the gulf. the warm side could produce thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes. the cold side of that storm, before it leaves oklahoma city, could produce a white christmas. >> the third storm is a real biggie. >> it's a monster. a high impact storm moving on to the west coast, producing one to four inches of flooding rain for parts of california. into the sierras, feet of snow. snow riders will be really happy about that. as it pushes east, a lot of snow. anyone traveling through the rockies, places like denver, could see several inches of snow. >> and it gets

on bay area rivers. how long this will stay with us? we'll take a look at the forecast. >> a wind advisory was in effect for the bay bridge, the carquinez bridge. if you didn't think the storm had a kick, take a look. this is our camera on mt. tamalpais in mill valley, pounded by rain and serious wind gusts. this storm drenched parts of the north bay. the national weather service issued a floor nod -- flashflood warning. and stoney point road is closed. sergio quintana is live at the scene. reporter: leigh mentioned the problem of the flash-flood warnings, and the other problem is the runoff. that's what happened here, this drainage culvert was overwhelmed, and the water just basically dug up the earth under the cult vert and created this sink hole. you can see the crews just managed to install these steel plates to allow cars to drive over the road. the rushing water is causing plenty of problems for road crews. the big worry here on stoney point road is more of the pavement could collapse so traffic will be diverted. >> trying to avert any accidents or hazard from somebody falli

relatively tranquil for the holidays, we're tracking one disturbance that will give us bad weather. eastern texas around the houston area, thunderstorms will pop up. that spreads eastward throughout christmas tuesday. louisiana, mississippi, alabama, georgia, interstates 10 and 20, large hail, damaging wind gusts, torrential downpours, the throat for a tornado. a destructive storm system on this tuesday. the highest threat for tornadoes around new orleans, mobile, interstate 10 northward into the panhandle of florida. definitely be on alert throughout the christmas tuesday. good snow across portions of the plains. >> i hate to see rough weather this time of the year. folks hitting the road and holidays. yeah. >>> let's look at weather from across the country on this christmas eve. last-minute shoppers in boston and chicago could see light know. also early showers and clearing in l.a. rain in louisville and cincinnati. >> and blast of arctic air is hitting the upper midwest. fargo barely makes it above zero. honolulu and miami, the hot spots, near 80. seattle and portland, the 40s. >>> in ot

intersection closed. good evening. thank you so much for joining us. i'm ama dates. we have live team coverage of our storm wach. lilian kim is on the peninsula where a creek over ran its banks. and there was lots of flooding in the north bay where cornell bernard is. we start with leigh glaser. leigh? >> what a difference about six, eight hours makes. live doppler 7hd, very active earlier this morning beginning at 7:00 a.m. as the cold front moved through. now you could barely even tell we had any rain at all. we are looking live now, folks, and you can see the receive rain has pushed on to the south and east of the bay area. still getting a few little sprinkles here and there between morgan hill and hollister. mainly at the higher elevations, but most of the rain, or actually all of the rain has moved out of the area. we did have quite a bit of rainfall. we still have a couple of river watches. these are river watches in affect until tomorrow morning. the river right now is at 27 feet. it looks like it will crest tomorrow morning below flood stage at 30 feet. the napa river in napa 23 feet r

, and behind us, where the traffic signals are, water is three to four feet deep. anyone's guess when that's major intersection will be re-opened to traffic. we're live in the sonoma valley, abc-7 news. >> a stretch of stoney point road just re-opened after a sink hole closed it for several hours today. sergio quintana is live at that scene. reporter: the big problem here was runoff following those really heavy storms earlier in the day. that runoff basically overwhelmed a drainage culvert, creating this huge sink hole. crews were able to install these steel plates over the road so the cars could safely pass. rushing runoff from heavy rains earlier in the day overwhelmed this drainage culvert under stoney point road and threatened to chew up more of the pavement. >> water is traveling underneath the pipe, creating a cavern, and potential -- basically a sinkhole. >> crews installed the greats to help with the weight of cars passing over, and in petaluma, the river crept up to the downtown area on c street. some businesses had their sandbags prepped. and sandbags were at apartments. water ba
